News & Information From Past World Class Martial Arts & Fitness Students |
Name: Lee Wright
Rank: 1st Dan
Started: 1996
Current Goals/Activities: Cycling, Triathlons, father of 3
I first walked into the school in the Spring of 1996 and met Master Lee. It is one of the defining moments of my adult life, I was 24. Over the next five years I earned a Black Belt and two state championships. The school taught me there is nothing you cannot achieve if you train and dedicate yourself mentally and physically. I went on to complete 2 marathons, 20+ triathlons including an half Ironman. More importantly it gave me the confidence to complete an MBA and now run a business unit at a multi-Billion dollar company. I apply what I learned at the school everyday in raising my three sons. It also provided strength when my oldest son turned out to be special needs. The lessons I learned while training will stay with me forever.
Name: Linda Yen
Rank: 3rd Degree Blackbelt
Current Activities: Hiking, Scuba Diving, Piano, Snowboarding
Current School: United States Naval Academy, Class of 2012
Master Lee has been my mentor and teacher for as long as I can remember. He has not only taught me Tae Kwon Do, but has also taught me the meaning of discipline and leadership. He is always available for his students, inside and outside of Tae Kwon Do.
I started Tae Kwon Do when I was 6 years old. The sport has taught me discipline not just physically, but also mentally. It gave me confidence and made me realize that I am only limited by the limitations I set on myself, not by anyone else. The lessons I have taken from Tae Kwon Do and Master Lee have gotten me through the hardest times of my life.

World Class Martial Arts & Fitness Student & Family Testimonials |
"I brought my son Edward to World Class Martial Arts & Fitness, owned by Mr. Charles Lee Sparks(Master Lee),
when he was 5 years old. Edward has diabetes and was behind kids of his age in his physical development. Now
my son is 11 years old and he is a black belt. He no longer feels shy about his physical development and he can
do jumps that I can not do myself. Myself and my 6 year old are also students. I would recommend World Class
Martial Arts & Fitness to anybody without any hesitation."
Dmitri Tyles, Parent and Current Student 2010
"Thank you so much for visiting the Centre Ridge Elementary Rec Pac program. The children loved learning
Tae Kwon Do, and they loved working out with you. They really had a great time. Your efforts are greatly
appreciated. Thank you for your support of our summer program."
Kristine Hurt, Director Centre Ridge Rec Pac 2009
"My two sons, Jacob and Christopher, are students of Master Lee's World Class Martial Arts & Fitness. Christopher
has been a student since September 2004 and Jacob since September 2005. In the time they have spent with Master
Lee, they have both shown significant progress in their Tae Kwon Do abilities. Christopher has progressed to the
level of school black belt and Jacob is a Sr. Blue belt. More notably, they have also learned discipline, respect to others,
and how to accept challenges in life. I watched countless moments in their training where Master Lee balanced firmness
in his teachings with an understanding of my kids' limits. He has an ability to know how hard to push the children
into new challenges while keeping them engaged."
Jay Hurt, Parent 2008
"This week is teachers appreciation week. The Manafi Family, we are taking this chance to let you know
that you are one of the great teachers. You help and work with our children with your whole heart. We
appreciate all of your time and hard work that you spend on every one of the children, in your class, trying to
teach them all of the valuable lessons, about protecting themselves, descipline, respect, team work, and the
family atmosphere that you have created in your class. We know you value every one of your children, and
work with patience with their shortcomings. It is great to feel that our children will be better people because you
have a positive effect on them. Teachers like you are on top of the list and you deserve the best. Thank you for
all that you do."
The Manafi Family
"I know that Cody's involvement in taekwondo has raised his self-esteem immensely.
It is also teaching him respect, manners, and self-discipline, which I know are important
components to someone's character. Cody has made a few wrong choices in school
in the past, but for the past three weeks I have noticed a lot of changes in Cody. Cody
is now a student who is paying attention in class when I am teaching. I have noticed that
he is raising his hand to participate in classroom discussion a lot more than he used too. He is
also being a good citizen by lending pencils to his friends if they can not find theirs. These are
a few examples of how Cody is becoming a mature leader in my classroom."
Laura George, 2nd Grade Teacher
"I have been assigned as Cody's mentor for approximately 18 months. Cody has shown a
recent increase in maturity since becoming involved in taekwondo. I enjoy spending time with
Cody because I can foresee that, given the proper guidance, that is currently receiving at home,
school, and in taekwondo that he posess the ability to become a model citizen. I would like to commend
Cody on his improvement and thank you for the discipline and values you have instilled in Cody."
